Clubs on Wisteria

Every other app is a closed loop.
This one has an address.

Clubs are participants on Wisteria, not listings. A club has a page. It posts. You follow it the way you follow a person. It puts real nights on a real calendar, and you get in from inside the app.

On Wisteria now

The Sanctuary

Salt Lake City, Utah First club

A church and social club in a restored historic building on West Market Street, and the first club to run its room inside Wisteria. The Sanctuary calls itself “a church and sanctuary for the bold, the curious, and the refined.”

Membership is by application. Friday and Saturday gatherings are private and members-only — no walk-ins, no same-day admission. The club was built for the ethically non-monogamous community in Salt Lake, and it writes consent, boundaries and mutual respect into its founding values. Its faith statement centres on a committed primary couple; its doors are open to the full range of relationship structures. That is a large part of why it is the first club here.

Members follow The Sanctuary in the app, read its feed, see its calendar and hold their admission on their phone.

More clubs are joining. If you belong to one that is thinking about it, point them here.

How a club works here

A page, not a listing

The club posts, members follow, and the club decides what is public and what is for members only.

Real nights, real tickets

Events live on a calendar in the app. Members buy admission and show the code at the door.

A feed that stays inside

A club-only feed that members see and nobody else does, alongside the club's public posts.

Verified at the door

When a club checks a member's ID in person, that member carries a Verified mark in the app. It is the only verification Wisteria recognises.

Applications in the app

A member applies on the club's own form, with the club's own questions. The answers go straight to the club.

The club keeps its own

Membership records belong to the club. Wisteria carries the room; it does not run it.

Bring your club

If you run a club and you are tired of a private Facebook group, a spreadsheet of members and a ticketing site that was built for concerts, this was built for you.

  • Your own page, feed and event calendar inside the app
  • Ticketing and door check-in, with the money going to your processor, not ours
  • Membership applications on your form, with your questions
  • Your members' privacy settings belong to them, not to you and not to us
  • No algorithm deciding who sees your posts

Write to admin@wisteriasocial.com and tell us about your club. A person reads it.

Wisteria is 18+ and in beta on iOS, with Android coming. Clubs set their own rules and their own minimum age on top of ours.
